The American icon Dolly Parton is to come to the O2 World Berlin during her "Blue Smoke World Tour" on 6th July 2014.
Dolly Parton is an all-rounder: as a singer, actress, songwriter and businesswoman she has become the biggest country music star in the world. The 1970s was her century. Songs like "Jolene”, "My Tennesee Mountain Home” and "I Will Always Love You” paved the way for her international breakthrough. The 67-year-old can look back on 45 years of great success, 100 million sold records and eight Grammy awards.
Dolly Parton has not played in Germany for 40 years. Reason enough to be even more excited about her next European tour: "Every time I come to Europe I'm just as excited as I was my very first time, which was many, many years ago. I love that part of the world and I especially love the fans.” In 2008, Dolly Parton broke her own records: she played 17 shows for 170.000 people in Europe. No other female singer has ever reached peak position in the charts with one song twice. She is also the only singer with 25 number 1 songs in four centuries.
