The Eisbären Berlin live at the o2 World
In the upcoming 2014/2015 season, the Eisbären Berlin are to take part in the newly founded Champions Hockey League, the highest European tournament for ice hockey clubs. In group D, the team around coach Jeff Tomlinson is to play against three top-class teams of the strongest leagues in Europe. Starting against Czech champion PSG Zlín in August, the Eisbären Berlin will also meet Swiss semifinalist Fribough-Gottéron in September as well as 16-time Swedish champion Djurgårgens IF from Stockholm.
For the German record-champion Eisbären Berlin, this season's main goal will be to regain their old strength and fight their way back to the top with a core of regulars, young players and a selection of new players joining the team. The Champions Hockey League thus promises to not only bring exciting and fast hockey on the highest level, but also be a first crucial test for the Eisbären after the summer break.
